Maria was a passionate advocate for our union and a dedicated voice for her community, making a lasting impact through her leadership and commitment. Maria was actively involved in Local 6132’s Legislative Committees during her time as an active member and continued her service even as a retiree. She served as the RMC President and held the distinguished role of Vice President for the Texas AFL-CIO. Her tireless efforts in legislative and political advocacy helped shape policies that benefitted working families across Texas. Maria’s unwavering dedication to labor rights and her community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, located at 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, on January 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at the same venue on January 9, 2026, from 5:45 pm to 6:30 pm.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:00pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, located at 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704.
