AT&T Southwest Pre-Bargaining Update

From Billy Moffett – Assistant to the Vice President – on November 14, 2024

The CWA elected bargaining team for AT&T SW met in Dallas, TX prior to the CIF meeting for our first face to face prep session November 11-13.

The team met with CWA Research for a presentation on what to expect with AT&T’s healthcare proposal(s) based on what was presented in D3 & D9. This meeting provided a lot of valuable information for us to consider and use at our table on benefits. We plan on including the CWA appointed Benefit Coordinator for AT&T SW, Jason Peavler, in any benefits discussions when bargaining begins for his valuable input as well.

All together the team drafted over 50 proposals from members’ input in the time we were together this week with many more still in the works. We plan to meet weekly going forward prior to the Critical Items meeting in Dallas on January 8, 2025.

In closing, please continue to encourage all members to fill out the AT&T SW Bargaining Surveys as our Mobilization Team will be activated in early 2025.

Challenge and Remedy to the Recent Election for Vice President for CORE

After the election results from October 7th, a challenge to the election was made concerning a violation of campaign rules. The challenge was delivered in writing to the Chair of the Election Committee on October 7th. The Election Committee then conducted an investigation to the allegations made and determined that there was a violation of the rules. The remedy to this violation, as decided by the Election Committee, was to rerun the election for the office of Vice President for CORE.

We are in the process of choosing a date to count the new ballots and when decided, notifications will be mailed to our members’ addresses on file. A separate letter will be mailed that will include the ballots and instructions.
